I. Position Information:
1. Title: Pastor of Students and Recreation
2. Classification: Full Time (Salary: $47,000 with a 4% base match on retirement) {Salary not set in stone}
3. Supervisor: Lead Pastor
II. Job Description:
1. Prepare and deliver faithful messages based on the Scriptures to the students of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church; in the hope of guiding young individuals towards knowing Christ and growing to be more Christlike.
2. Lead Sunday School and assist other student-aged Sunday School classes with curriculum and planning.
3. Plan student activities for the current youth of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, while also creating activities that have the ability to serve as outreach for other students in our community.
4. Aid in planning, executing, and communicating with other staff and members for church functions that occur throughout the year. (VBS, Awana, Easter, Christmas, Men’s Breakfast, etc.)
5. This position would be expected to take our students to “The Wilds” church summer camp that lasts for nearly a week.
6. Plan, Prepare, and Preach 6-10 Sunday evening sermons a year. This will be in accordance with the present book or series being preached.
7. It is expected that this role will spend time outside of office hours doing ministry for the church, her members, and for those in need of the Gospel and pastoral care.
8. Be present at weekly staff meetings and prepared to mentor students in need.
9. Be available to make hospital/homebound visit.
10. Be faithful in all other duties as assigned.
III. Personal Qualities:
1. This candidate must meet the requirements for anyone who holds the office of pastor. (1st Peter 5:2-3; Titus 1:6-9; 1st Timothy 3:1-7)
2. This candidate must adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
3. We are looking for a candidate that either already has a M.Div. or is currently in the process of completing his M.Div. from an SBC Seminary.
4. We are looking for a candidate that loves God, loves people, lives the Gospel, and desires to Glorify God.

Our hope is that this pastoral role allows for this man to be the best husband, pastor, teacher, and father (if these roles apply to this individual) that he can be. Above all else, we want the man God has called to this position to be aware of
his calling to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and for Him to grow in his own walk with the Lord, becoming evermore into the image of Christ, as we grow together.
