Senior Pastor Full Time

Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Canton, N.C. is diligently praying for God’s guidance as we search for our next full-time pastor.

Our desire is for God to send us a man who is passionate about spreading the inerrant infallible Word of God through gifted expository preaching and teaching along with the desire for compassionate pastoral care for the church family and surrounding community. A strong Bible based counseling background with good communication skills would be an asset.

We also desire a pastor with strong innovative leadership skills who can help us grow spiritually and actively lead us in spreading the Gospel through an increased outreach ministry to our community and neighbors.

Ideally applicants should be a least 25 years old, with some pastoral experience and at least actively pursuing a higher education in theology.

Mt. Zion is a traditional Southern Baptist Church, established in 1872, that holds true to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We maintain membership in the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Haywood Baptist Association.

Our church has a strong mission minded congregation that supports missions giving through the Cooperative Program, the Lottie Moon Mission Offering, and the Annie Armstrong Mission Offering. Our average Sunday morning worship attendance is 75. The age of attendees range  from a newborn to senior adults.

The church has a sanctuary that will accommodate over 300 attendees with an educational building consisting of 10+ classrooms and a fellowship hall. The campus has an outdoor facility that is used for picnics and other events. Also available for the pastor and his family is a four-bedroom / two bath parsonage with a study / office.
