ActiveMultiply Community Church is a 5 year old church plant in the heart of Union County, NC. We have an average attendance of 75-100 each week and are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational congregation. Our mission is for all to KNOW Christ, GROW in Christ, and GO tell the world about Christ.
Job Summary:
The position of Associate Pastor to Youth & Children at Multiply Community Church is a full-time position. This person will also serve as one of the elders of the church. He will oversee children and youth from birth to 12th grade; 30% of his time will be spent leading and casting vision to those who currently serve in our Multiply Kids Ministry and 70% of his time will be spent leading, building, and teaching the youth in our Multiply Youth Ministry. This position would focus heavily on our youth ministry (6th – 12th grade), but help give oversight to current leaders and cast vision to our children as well (birth – 5th grade). The Word of God is foundational to both our children and youth ministries; everything that is done must flow from the Word of God. This person must possess the ability to build these ministries from the ground up.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree and working towards a Master of Divinity Degree (or equivalent) and/or training that would qualify him to lead children and youth. He must also hold to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. He must be saved and called into the gospel ministry (must be able to clearly articulate both his conversion and calling).
2. He shall meet all of the requirements of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
3. He must be above reproach (James 3:1).
4. He must be a disciple who is making disciples.
5. He must demonstrate a readiness and ability to share the gospel with others outside of the church.
6. He must have a heart to serve in the local community. Which includes being actively involved in outreach, evangelism, and missions opportunities.
7. He must have strong administrative skills or be able to delegate, guide and direct others in essential administrative functions of the church.
8. He must be able to create and maintain relationships with parents, children and youth, as well as make an effort to be involved and build relationships outside of weekly church gatherings.
9. He should have some experience in leading a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural children’s and/or youth ministry and possess a desire and make it a priority to reach that demographic of Monroe, NC.
10. He should be actively involved in local and state SBC denominational life as it relates to children and youth.
11. He must have the ability to preach in the absence of the teaching pastor or the elders.
12. He shall abide by all policies within the Multiply Community Church Employee Personnel Manual.
13. He must be willing to undergo a thorough background check.
