North Henry Baptist Church (Stockbridge, GA) is prayerfully seeking a full time Senior Pastor to lead our congregation through a season of revitalization and spiritual growth in our community. Our Mission is to glorify God by winning people to Jesus Christ and equipping them to be more faithful disciples.

Current active membership is 192 with average worship attendance of 112. Compensation is between 60-80k including salary/housing/retirement/insurance, plus free tuition for children at NHA if applicable.

Our next pastor would develop, execute and communicate the church’s vision and mission by aligning ministry activities with the church’s overall goals for growth and reaching the community.

Qualifications

· The ideal candidate will be a spiritually mature leader who can connect with a multi-generational and multi-cultural congregation.

· A Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education

· Strong communication skills, both in preaching and interpersonal relationships

· Skills in strategic planning, leadership development, and discipleship

· A heart for and pattern of community engagement and outreach

· An experienced pastor with at least 5 years of relevant ministry leadership.

Achieving Church Goals

· We aim to expand discipleship, stewardship, and outreach while continuing to reflect God’s love through relevant ministries

· Preaching and Teaching: Deliver biblical, engaging sermons and teaching to inspire spiritual growth and discipleship (I Cor. 2:1-5, 2 Tim. 4:1-5, and Tit. 1:1-4)

·   Visionary Leadership: Cast and implement a clear, actionable vision that aligns with NHBC’s mission to foster community impact and spiritual depth. (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Acts

20:28-30, Tit 1:9, and 1 Pet. 5:1-4)

· Community and Cultural Engagement: Build bridges with our diverse community, addressing its needs through relevant outreach and evangelism

· Discipleship Development: Develop structured pathways for all ages to deepen their faith and spiritual understanding

· Leadership Empowerment: Mentor and equip staff and lay leaders to create a unified, capable team

· Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate care, counseling, and support to members in times of need

· Operational Stewardship: Align resources and manage the church effectively, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth

Overview Of North Henry Baptist Church (NHBC)

Founded in 1984, as North Henry Baptist Mission by the Home Mission Board, now the North American Mission Board, continues to be an influential congregation characterized by spirit-filled worship and a legacy of service in our community. Our church family spans generations, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects our mission to grow in faith and fellowship. While honoring our traditions, we stand ready to embrace new opportunities for ministry and community impact as we grow spiritually and numerically.

NHBC’s multi-generational membership reflects a rich history and a growing diversity. The surrounding area presents opportunities to engage younger families and children. We aim to expand discipleship, stewardship, and outreach while continuing to reflect God’s love.

NHA (North Henry Academy) is a ministry of North Henry Baptist Church founded in 1992. It now has K3-12th grade with 114 students currently attending. The 17-acre NHBC campus is shared with NHA and includes a separate chapel, gymnasium, and athletic fields (soccer and softball) for church activities and community outreach.

NHBC is in a dynamic and diverse region in north Henry County in Georgia. This vibrant community is predominantly African American and hosts a blend of blue-collar and white-collar professionals, with median household incomes in the $67,000 range.

While the community thrives with cultural richness and diversity, residents also face challenges such as financial planning, personal health and wellness, and fear of the future. These factors present a meaningful opportunity for NHBC to minister through compassion and active engagement.
