PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
In general, the Worship Leader will lead our church in its corporate worship. His character must reflect high personal standards of godliness and personal and familial holiness from the world. Adherence to biblical, ethical, and fiscal stewardship is of critical importance. Work shall be conducted in a manner pleasing to God, dictated by ministry needs, and enacted with a team concept with the NHBC staff and as directed by the Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee. The Worship Leader is required to agree with the church constitution, by-laws, covenant, and job description.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all aspects of the worship service (except preaching of God’s Word). He will work with the worship team, choir, and audio/video personnel to ensure that all aspects of Sunday Worship services are done with excellence for God’s glory.
Develop, submit, and oversee an annual budget request for the worship ministry.
Attend all church services unless previously agreed upon by the Senior Pastor and/or Personnel Committee.
Attend staff meetings and other committee or ministry team meetings.
Ensure the recording and/or broadcasting of worship services, classes, and other events as directed by leadership.
Meet with the worship team/choir regularly to develop new initiatives for the ministry.
Manage any paid staff hired into the worship ministry.
Work with the audio and video team to maintain inventory of all audio and video equipment. Ensuring equipment is in working condition when needed.
The Worship Leader will be held accountable to the Lord via his relationships with the Senior Pastor, the Personnel Committee, and the entire congregation. He will open his life to others and their critique of his character and ministry. The Personnel Committee and Senior Pastor will conduct an annual evaluation.
DUTIES REQUIRED:
Lead the church in weekly corporate worship with hymns and modern worship songs.
Develop and maintain a worship ministry calendar.
Facilitate special music (recruiting various individuals from the worship ministry).
Include hymns in each Sunday order of worship.
Incorporate scripture, testimonies, and/or videos into worship.
Songs need to be picked out before Wednesday Night Bible Study each week.
Communicate via email and/or text by Wednesday night each week with an order of service and song lists for the worship team and choir.
Weekly worship team rehearsals on Wednesday nights unless we have no other activities.
Weekly choir practices on Sunday evenings as needed or based on the worship calendar.
Follow regular practice to equip yourself spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Pursue personal spiritual growth through private devotional time.
Cooperate with other staff members to complement and integrate their ministries in a total team effort.
Any other duties assigned by the Senior Pastor or Personnel Committee.
