Youth Minister Full Time

Padre Island Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation in Corpus Christi, Texas, seeking a Youth Pastor who loves Jesus, loves students, and wants to build a ministry rooted in Scripture and lived in relationship. Our active youth ministry currently averages about 25 middle and high school students. We are not simply looking for an activity coordinator; we are seeking a pastor who will invest in students and help them become lifelong followers of Christ.

Reports to: Family Pastor

Ministry: Grades 6-12

Connects naturally with middle and high school students while building trust with their parents.

Brings energy to the room and enjoys active, relational ministry by joining students in games, outdoor activities, camps, retreats, service projects, and everyday life.

Communicates biblical truth clearly in age-appropriate ways and listens well to students and families.

Is organized, dependable, team-oriented, and able to recruit and equip volunteers.

Core Responsibilities

Lead Bible-centered ministry for grades 6-12 on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, including intentional times of singing, prayer, Scripture, and student participation in worship.

Develop boys’ and girls’ discipleship and accountability groups led by appropriate, vetted adult mentors who help students study Scripture, pray, ask honest questions, and grow in holiness.

Equip students to lead, share their faith, invite friends, and pursue appropriate opportunities for Bible study and Christian witness in their schools.

Create consistent relational opportunities such as beach bonfires, BBQs and volleyball, game nights, retreats, camps, and other outings where students can build genuine Christian friendships.

Lead students to serve locally through projects such as beach cleanups, helping families in need, and partnering with

Recruit and equip volunteers, select curriculum, manage the ministry budget and event logistics, participate in staff and church meetings, and preach occasionally as requested.

Requirements and Compensation

Requirements: Satisfactory background check, valid driver’s license, and three references.

Compensation: Based on experience, as recommended by the Personnel and Finance Committees.
