Worship Leader – Job Description

Primary Function

The Worship Leader is responsible to the Pastor and the church for overseeing the total music ministry. This role ensures that all worship services are spiritually enriching, musically cohesive, and aligned with the church’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

Program Oversight
Plan, organize, and evaluate a comprehensive music program in collaboration with the Pastor, Sound Booth Director, Technicians, and musicians.
Ensure all worship services maintain a peaceful and balanced musical atmosphere.
Leadership & Coordination
Direct musicians, singers, and special program productions.
Conduct choir rehearsals and coordinate the planning of special musical events.
Worship Planning
Select and develop a monthly calendar of songs for all services.
Arrange and distribute the weekly “Order of Services” to the church office in advance.
Budget & Administration
Collaborate with the Finance Committee and Pastor to establish and manage the music department budget.
Keep the Pastor informed of departmental needs, progress, and achievements.
Church Collaboration
Work closely with the Pastor, church staff, and congregation to support the church’s overall objectives.
Encourage and recruit new choir members, singers, and musicians to grow the ministry.
Service Execution
Ensure all worship services are planned and executed with the Pastor’s approval and guidance.
