Job Description
Purpose: to align and mobilize the ministries and resources of the PBBA so to further the expansion of the Kingdom of God through partnering Southern Baptist churches.
Qualifications:
Calling
· Must be a baptized follower of Jesus Christ.
· Must be called by God and fully committed to Christian ministry.
· Must have been ordained into Christian ministry.
Character
· Must have a consistent Christian testimony and should reflect the biblical qualifications of overseer in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
· Must exhibit Christ-like qualities in his life and ministry reflective of those in the Moral Lifestyle section of the PBBA Personnel Handbook.
· Must be creative, emotionally stable, and able to work well with and constructively relate to others.
Competence
· Must be a member in good standing of a Southern Baptist church.
· Must have pastoral ministry and leadership experience in a Southern Baptist church.
· Must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000 edition.
· Must have a completed a minimum four-year undergraduate college degree. Additional post-graduate seminary training at an accredited institution is preferred.
Requirements:
· Must oversee the overall work and life of the PBBA.
· Must facilitate the immediate and long-range planning and calendar oversight of the PBBA.
· Must supervise and evaluate all PBBA employees and staff.
· Must provide effective administrative and managerial oversight of Faith and Hope Counseling Center, providing guidance and leadership support to the Center’s Counseling Director.
· Must serve as ex-officio member of one of our PBBA churches, including regular attendance and participation in corporate worship and small group Bible study.
· Must agree with and support the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Florida Baptist Convention, and Southern Baptist ministry programs and partners.
Responsibilities:
Encouraging
· Provide professional and spiritual support for PBBA pastors and ministers.
· Maintain regular contact and relationships with PBBA pastors and ministers, being available for counsel and guidance in times of need.
· Facilitate fellowship among the PBBA pastors and ministers.
· Provide opportunities for peer learning groups.
Equipping
· Lead the PBBA in training and resourcing church leaders to build healthy congregations.
· Provide training opportunities relevant to the needs and challenges of our churches.
· Communicate available training and resource opportunities available to PBBA churches throughout the Southern Baptist network.
Engaging
· Lead the PBBA in cooperating and serving together in Kingdom ministry.
· Facilitate church revitalization and church-planting conversations.
· Facilitate cooperative mission efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.
· Serve as the catalyst for the PBBA’s continued cooperation with established ministry and mission partners, including Walton County Baptist Association.
