Youth Pastor Full Time

Pinetops Baptist Church in Pinetops, NC is currently searching for our church’s next Youth Pastor.  The position of Youth Pastor exists to honor God and shepherd students and young adults by leading them into a vibrant, growing, and lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. This role will provide pastoral leadership for a comprehensive ministry to youth (grades 7–12) and will also work toward developing a dedicated ministry for young adults (college-age through young professionals), equipping them to know Christ, to grow in their faith, and to serve the church and community. This position will report directly to the Lead Pastor. 

Qualifications:
·      Meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
·      A vital and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, marked by strong Christian character.
·      A clear sense of calling from the Holy Spirit to pastoral ministry among youth and young adults.
·      Agreement with the doctrinal statements of Pinetops Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
·      A shepherd’s heart and a genuine desire to disciple students and young adults through the local church.
·      Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to recruit, train, and disciple volunteer leaders.
·      Prior experience in youth ministry and some theological training are preferred, but each candidate will be prayerfully considered.

Key Responsibilities:
·      Provide pastoral leadership for a comprehensive Youth Ministry program.
·      Lead Bible studies and lessons that are faithful to Scripture, sound in doctrine, and that have a clear focus on practical application for our youth.
·      Shepherd students through weekly Sunday and Wednesday night gatherings, Bible studies, camps, retreats, mission/service projects, and special events.
·      Cultivate an evangelistic and growth-oriented culture within the youth ministry.
·      Recruit, train, and disciple volunteer leaders and teachers who serve alongside students.
·      Foster an environment in our youth group where visitors feel welcome and where students are comfortable engaging in worship, fellowship, service, and prayer.
·      Maintain an open line of communication with students and their families and provide pastoral care and counseling when needed.

Other Duties:
·      Serve as a member of the pastoral staff and participate in staff meetings and in church leadership and planning.
·      Align our church’s youth ministry with the broader vision, mission, and calendar of the church.
·      Manage the youth ministry budget.
·      Provide pastoral care as needed (hospital visitation, counseling, family support).
·      Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
·      This is a full-time, salaried position and will require weekly office hours (There will be a level of flexibility in scheduling office hours). Salary will be negotiable and based on education and experience.
