Prospective Pastor,

We are pleased to introduce you to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, as we seek a new pastor to lead us in our mission to glorify God, proclaim His gospel, and grow as disciples of Christ. Our church has a long history of serving the community and standing firm on the foundation of Biblical truth. The following is offered as an introduction to our church family, and to share a bit about who we are and where we believe the Lord is leading us.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church is a traditional Southern Baptist congregation. We cherish Southern Gospel music as an important part of our worship experience, lifting our voices through hymns that resonate deeply with our congregation. While our church values our rich traditions we are also committed to faithfully preaching and teaching the Word of God to a growing community and a younger generation who need to know Christ in a meaningful and life-changing way.

Our congregation currently has an average attendance of approximately 55 members with a median age of about 60. Pre-pandemic, we would frequently worship with approximately 200 members and guests. We have also been blessed with attendance reaching close to 400. Though we have a small number of youth (about six members under 18), we have a heart and commitment to grow and reach more young families, individuals, and children with the gospel. We are located in a thriving community with a population of 89,000 people within a five-mile radius, and we anticipate that this will grow to 95,000 by 2028, with the average age of residents being 39. This provides us with a wonderful opportunity and challenge to engage and reach our neighbors for Christ in fresh and impactful ways.

Initially, we are looking for a bi-vocational pastor with a vision of becoming a full-time pastor. Our church will follow a Godly man with a passion for Biblical preaching and teaching grounded in conservative, evangelical theology. We value expository preaching that faithfully presents the Word of God and helps believers grow in their walk with Christ. Our church desires to mature believers into Christ likeness while also seeking to reach our community for Him. We are praying for a pastor who shares this vision and will lead us in fulfilling our mission to make disciples.
