Senior Pastor Full Time

Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership to members of our church.

The duties include but are not limited to the following:

1) Plan and conduct worship services, develop sermons, plan with music leadership, and lead in the observance of ordinances.

2) Lead the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission with vision, purpose, and priority.

3) Lead and demonstrate effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.

4) Visit and minister, with the assistance of staff and deacons, to members and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities, and hospitals as needed.

5) Lead the deacons, staff, and the church in a caring ministry for those in the church and in the community.

6) Conduct counseling sessions, perform wedding ceremonies, and conduct funeral services.

7) Provide administrative leadership for the total church program.

8) Work with Pastoral staff, Deacons, and other key leadership to carry out the mission and purpose of the church.

9) Cooperate with associational, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern.

10) Recommend and advise on the selection of all staff members and in determining their responsibilities.

11) Serve as Overseer/Administrator of paid church staff, supervising and evaluating the tasks assigned to each.

12) Serve to recommend and advise committees and teams as an ex-officio member.

13) Oversee, along with Deacons, all church discipline matters and the management of conflict issues in the church.

14) Communicate with the congregation through articles or announcements, written and spoken, using church newsletter, bulletins, worship services and electronic communication.

15) Adhere to the Church Bylaws and Policies and Procedures adopted by the church.

16) Maintain a vital and wholesome personal relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer.

17) Maintain proper priorities at home with his wife and children.

Job Requirements:

1) Born again Christian

2) Ordained Southern Baptist Minister

3) Experience as a senior pastor

4) Minimum of a BA in Theology, Doctorate Preferred

5) Ability to drive to visit church members

6) In a godly marriage
