Youth Director Full Time

The Youth Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing a youth ministry program for 5th – 12th grade, and fostering spiritual, social, and emotional growth among youth. This includes planning and leading youth groups, developing curriculum, recruiting volunteers, and partnering with the church and community.

Essential Job Functions

• Builds healthy relationships with youth and their families.
• Provide inviting, engaging, clean, and safe environments.
• Design and implement an efficient check-in/out process.
• Research and ensure child safety laws and best practices are implemented.
• Create weekly lessons and activities for 5th through 12th grade.
• Order materials/supplies.
• Prepare classrooms with all materials: curriculum, activities, equipment (audio, video, etc.), and snacks.
• Recruit, train, develop, and manage volunteers and teachers.
• Maintain updated training processes and procedures which include, but are not limited to, child safety, classroom management, and teaching curriculum.
• Schedule volunteers, manage substitutes, and cover open assignments as needed.
• Communicate weekly with parents, youth, and volunteers.
• Organize Planning Center data.
• Plan and implement social events (retreats, parties, etc.).
• Teach youth classes.

Supplemental Job Functions

• Provide appreciation celebrations.
• Organizing and planning an annual youth retreat.
• New Parent Orientation for parents of rising 5th graders.
• Collaborate with the Kids Director.

Qualifications and Skills

• Understand and be in agreement with Redemption Hill’s statement of faith, mission, and vision.
• Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, Christian education and discipling youth.
• Possess a strong foundation in biblical principles and the ability to communicate them effectively.
• Demonstrate a mature ability to steward relationships well.
• Demonstrate soft skills such as clear communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
• Have experience in working with youth instruction, curriculum development, planning activities.
