About Rivertree

On behalf of our client, Rivertree Church, we are seeking a Worship Pastor for the Downtown Huntsville campus.  Receiving its name from Revelation 22:2, Rivertree aims to be a community transformed by Jesus, sharing both the gospel and their lives with others.

Rivertree Church is dedicated to being Christ-centered, believing people matter, serving others first, and encouraging growth towards reflecting Christ’s image in all aspects of life. With campuses in Hampton Cove and Downtown Huntsville, the church collaborates with other local churches and group initiatives to make God known. Through the gospel, Rivertree Church hopes to make a meaningful impact and see God’s kingdom come to their community and beyond.

Ministry Summary

By contributing to Rivertree’s mission to help one another know Jesus by sharing the gospel and our lives, the worship pastor will lead the congregation in corporate worship weekly.

Responsibilities:

Worship Ministry (90%)

●  Take part in the life of the Church and grow strong Christ-centered friendships.

●  Maintain a healthy rhythm of work and rest, ministry and family.

●  Prioritize personal spiritual growth and vitality.

●  Recruit, select, and equip band members and worship leaders.

●  Regularly meet with band and volunteers to encourage, facilitate community,
and care for them personally.

●  Provide training and retreat opportunities for band and volunteers.

●  Lead worship services weekly.

●  Lead worship, build teams, and disciple worship teams.

●  Lead the band and production team.

●  Lead worship and assists in A/V for special events.

●  Lead special events at the other campus when needed.

●  Attend all weekly staff meetings as well as help lead weekly production meetings.

●  Disciple the worship team by leading them in devotionals and shepherding them.

●  Schedule band members and A/V team.

●  Assist in placing volunteers into the Planning Center and Rehearsal Mix.

●  Work alongside the other campus’s Worship Pastor to plan worship gatherings.

●  Develop new worship team members through weekly rehearsals and training.

● Prepare annual worship ministry budgets.

●  Other duties as assigned.

Pastoral Care (10%)

●  Work with the pastoral team to provide counseling and care for the church (ie. premarital, crisis, etc.).

●  Coordinate member care with other pastors and elders and provide needed follow up.

Job Qualifications 

●  Be a follower of Christ and agree with the Church’s mission statement and essential beliefs.

●  Have a passion to see God’s people healthy and equipped for the work of ministry.

●  College or seminary degree with training in some aspect of administration, education, or ministry, or equivalent experience.

●  Be a gifted vocalist

●  Enjoy leading and developing leaders and teams.

●  Have working knowledge of budgeting.

●  Working knowledge of human resource management principles and standards.

Job Conditions

●  Job involves stress related to growth, changes in work environment, and exposure to various personal problems of students and families.

●  Job includes periodic local and non-local travel.

●  Job requires a combination of office and irregular hours.
