Kids Director Part Time

OVERVIEW

Rock City Church is a church plant launching in Westminster, Colorado. We’re looking for someone excited and ready to take on the challenges of starting and leading a ministry from scratch. This is an opportunity to live on mission in a community where 90% of families aren’t followers of Jesus and to build a ministry that introduces kids to Jesus –– maybe for the first time! As a start-up, applicants should anticipate fundraising or working bi-vocationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Kids Director is primarily responsible for leading Rock City Kids to ensure a safe and effective program for children (birth-5th grade) and partnering with parents/families to help them as they lead their children to follow God.

The Kids Director will provide leadership and oversight to the Rock City Kids Team. Their main focus will be on training servant leaders to teach and engage with children while also connecting with every parent who walks through our church’s doors. Additionally, the Kids Director will be responsible for following up with those new to Rock City Church and will work with the Lead Pastor to create a system and strategy for helping connect people to our church.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Plan, organize, and lead spiritually during Sunday gatherings
• Recruit, train, and build the Rock City Kids Team
• Cultivate an environment that teaches kids the message of Jesus at their level
• Work in conjunction with the Connections Director to create a follow-up process for new families to the church
• Ensure all children’s safety and security by creating and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Create care moments for those in need, such as the birth of a baby (as available)
• Other responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS NEEDED TO SUCCEED

• Ability to train, develop, and coordinate with servant leaders
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to self-motivate and make independent decisions
• Effective in organization and administration
• Strong spiritual maturity
• High school diploma or GED

YOU MAY LOVE SERVING IN THIS ROLE IF…

• You have a heart for working with kids and enjoy seeing the lightbulb go off as they learn new things and take their next steps (sometimes literally).
• You enjoy thinking outside the box and often come up with new ways to make things fun and exciting.
• You tend to have a strong gut instinct for when something feels off and will often take the time to investigate.
• You can get down and talk to kids on their level but can also easily converse with an adult about their life.
