Associate Pastor for Worship Ministries Full Time

Principal Function:

Under the direction of the Pastor, the Associate Pastor for Worship Ministries is responsible for assisting the church in planning, leading, and supervising a comprehensive music ministry.  Also, he will provide support to the Pastor and staff in the daily activities of Rose Hill Baptist Church, assisting the ministries of Rose Hill Baptist Church in meeting the needs of the church and community.  His responsibilities are:

Worship Ministries: 

1.     Lead the church in developing a biblical understanding of worship that exalts Jesus Christ and calls people to obedience (Ps. 95:6).

2.     Integrate and emphasize the role of the worship ministries in the overall process of spiritual formation for the church through coordination with all preaching (when possible), the church calendar, etc.

3.     Work with the pastor in determining organization, leadership, facilities, finances and administrative processes goals, as a part of the overall mission of the church.

4.     Assist the pastor in planning the overall worship services for church gatherings.

5.     Facilitate the Worship Choir and other music groups within the church.  This includes but is not limited to the role of these groups in the overall plan of the worship ministry of the church.

6.     Lead in discipling and developing leaders in the music ministry.

7.     Coordinate all choirs, music groups and individuals as a part of the overall church worship ministry.

8.     Lead the selection of all music literature as a part of the comprehensive worship ministry of the church.

9.     Prepare and submit the order of service for the weekly church bulletin by Tuesday of the week prior to the Sunday Worship service.

10. Synchronize all audio/video in the worship gatherings.

11. Prepare a comprehensive annual budget for worship ministries to be recommended to the Finance Committee.

Pastoral Ministries 

1.  Assist in the leadership of Rose Hill church worship services, in preaching or finding someone to preach when directed.

2. Aid in the discipling, mentoring and counseling of the church body.

3. Preach in Rose Hill Christian School Chapel services as needed. This need may vary depending on ability and need.

4. Assist in outreach visitation, and all visitation of members. You will be expected to keep a log of those visited to be submitted to the Senior Pastor.

5. Perform weddings and funerals as needed.

6. Participate in nursing home visitation and outreach as needed.

7.  Assist in the production of promotional and public relations materials including church website publications, news releases, and engagement in Social Media. 

8.  Attend all staff and deacon meetings as instructed.

9.  As a leader within the church, you are expected to attend all services and participate in the life and activities of the church.

Other

1.  Perform other duties, as may be required or requested by the Pastor from time

to time.

Requirements

1.     Must be a born-again believer of Jesus Christ, whose commitment is evident in his personal life and who has received a definite call into the ministry.

2.     Must meet the biblical qualifications for church leaders as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:5-9.

3.     Must have the maturity, wisdom, and love to serve the church with meekness, dignity, and humility. (1 Peter 5:2-3).

4.     Must be a man with a pastor’s heart with the desire lead the church to worship through biblically sound, theologically rich, music that complements the preaching and that leads all generations to worship God.

5.     Must be in full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

6.     Must possess at least a bachelors degree from an accredited College or Seminary, with formal training in music and theology.

7.     Must fully support the ministry of the Rose Hill Baptist Church in his public, professional, and private life and be willing to serve the church through participation in its ministries as directed by the Pastor.

8.     Must have 5 or more years of pastoral ministry experience.
