Director of Student Ministries Part Time

The youth director is a part-time role that is responsible to assist the Senior Pastor with ministerial and support needs as they arise. The director, like the Pastor, is not responsible for doing all the work of the ministry but for seeing it is done properly. The youth director will focus on the spiritual growth of young people in the church (Grades 6th – 12th) and their successful transition within the Next Generation Ministries of the church.

Must be a Christian and represent not only Second Baptist Church, but Jesus Christ Himself and demonstrate a real love and concern for all people.
Organize and lead student ministry activities, Bible studies, and services. Specifically, lead the student ministry programs on Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings.
Find ways to partner with parents and grandparents in their role as the primary disciple- makers in the home.
Develop and implement an overall discipleship strategy for the youth ministry that will include Sunday school, small group studies, and training for volunteers.
Plan and organize special events and activities for the youth on a regular basis that could include lock-ins, DNOW, youth camp, retreats, game nights, etc.
Support the vision of the church and work to assist the Senior Pastor in implementing the vision.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
