Senior Pastor Full Time

Second Baptist Church of Russellville, KY is in search of a Senior Pastor/Leader of the Church. We have a large campus, including two Parsonages, and are geared towards growth in the church and community outreach, to bring people into the Church to learn about the Lord God. Pastoral package, important details and the full process will be discussed further throughout the application process. We are happy to speak with each applicant! Applicant must be ordained and most importantly, be called by God to preach. Application deadline is August 30, 2024. Our church is in search growth, reaching the lost and growing as a body to complete the commandment of being messengers of God love and his word to the world.

Key Responsibilities 1. Be a faithful student of the Bible and as a preacher/teacher to present well-organized, Bible-based sermons and lessons that edify, challenge, and encourage the church as well as promote the passionate worship of God. 2. Disciple the congregation through Bible study with the aim to develop their Christian maturity and depth of biblical understanding with life applications. 3. Ensure that the church maintains a focus on providing a variety of programs and initiatives that engage and involve members of every generation. 4. Oversee and provide guidance on programs that equip members for discipleship. 5. Provide guidance and oversight to church committees and other teams in a manner that helps them to thrive independently. 6. Support the church’s youth and children’s ministry programs that prepare our youth and children for independent Christian adult living, foster a fellowship of believers, and promote Bible-based life choices. 7. Lead the congregation in efforts to grow God’s Kingdom and to reach the lost and the unchurched and live out the Great Commission. 8. Work with church members and attendees to help them identify how they can utilize their gifts and find a place to serve the Lord within the church and in missions and ministry. 9. Administer the believer’s baptism, communion, funerals, weddings, child dedications; participate in homebound and hospital visits. 10. Cooperate with local, associational, state and other Christian leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern, and represent the church in local civic matters.
