Kid’s Ministry Director Full Time

Summary: Work alongside the Pastor of Education to disciple students 1st-4th grade (“Kidville”) and their families.

Responsibilities & Objectives

1.     Oversee Sunday School for 1st-4th grade students.

a.     Coordinate current Sunday school teachers.

                                              i.     Contact person on rotation that week for check-in and encouragement.

                                             ii.     Keep teacher rotation and schedule up to date.

                                           iii.     Communicate expectations and follow up on needs or concerns.

b.    Training/Equipping new and current Sunday School teachers

                                              i.     Be sure that all teachers are appropriately using their curriculum and time.

                                             ii.     Onboarding teachers to rotate in or multiply classes.

                                           iii.     Develop a contingency plan for above average attendance.

c.     Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on choosing Biblical and Relevant curriculum.

                                              i.     Know the spiritual place and needs of our kids for relevant curriculum.

                                             ii.     Stay up to date on the best and current curriculums.

2.    Oversee Wednesday Night Midweek for 1st-4th grade students.

a.     Plan an engaging, Bible centered, weekly service for kids.

                                              i.     Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on curriculum or biblical teaching

                                             ii.     Coordinate volunteers (Group leaders, floaters, music, tech, etc)

                                           iii.     Collaborate with “The Bridge” (5th-6th grade) on potential crossover times/activities.

3.    Coordinate Kid’s Church on Sunday Mornings.

a.     Contact people on rotation that week for check-in and encouragement.

b.    Keep leader rotation and schedule up to date.

c.     Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on curriculum.

4.    Collaborate with Pastor of Education and Pre-school Coordinator to direct events related to Children’s Ministry (“Park & Kidville”).

a.     Coordinate seasonal/quarterly kids events with the Park Coordinator and the Pastor of Education, e.g., Back-to-School Bash, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookies with the Pastor, etc.

b.    Lead and facilitate camps and retreats for students 3rd-6th grade, e.g., Centrikid, Siloam Spring Retreat, etc.

c.     Collaborate with Summer Interns and youth volunteers on engaging Summer activities for kids 1st-6th grade, e.g., Mission Mondays, Terrific Tuesdays, etc.

5.    Engage parents and guardians through family discipleship opportunities.

a.     Work with the Pastor of Education to create a Scope and Sequence for kids ministry

                                              i.     5 Year plan/roadmap of discipleship and biblical literacy.

b.    Work with the Pastor of Education to develop a system for regular Family Engagement, for example:

                                              i.     Weekly GroupMe, text messages, videos.

                                             ii.     Creating “evergreen” content for parent training.

                                           iii.     Finding or creating resources for parents to use daily/weekly.
