Position: Director of Missions

The Sequatchie Valley Baptist Association is seeking a dedicated and visionary Director of Missions (DOM) to serve 25 churches across four rural counties in SE Tennessee. This role requires a committed Christian with a clear call to Christian service and a pastor’s heart. Although this is a full-time position, the DOM will work with pastors, the majority of whom are bi-vocational.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and support to the local churches and church leaders.
Plan, conduct, and evaluate the work of the association.
Coordinate missions and outreach efforts among member churches.

Qualifications:

Spiritual Background: Must be a committed Christian with a strong sense of calling.
Educational Background: Preferably holds college or seminary degrees or their equivalent.
Special Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Baptist denominational life is essential, along with a willingness to learn and adapt. The candidate should be visionary and flexible, with strong planning and organizational skills.
Character: Must exemplify Christ-like love, compassion & integrity.
Experience: Sufficient experience in management, administration, and ministry is required to effectively oversee the association’s work.
Pastor of pastors: The DOM functions as a pastor to pastors. He may be called upon for church leadership and pulpit fill. As such the candidate should be a male who closely demonstrates the qualifications of a pastor listed in I Tim. 3 and Titus 1.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate based upon ministry qualifications.
