Senior Pastor Full Time

Shenandoah Community Fellowship

Woodstock, VA

Active

Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate:

The ideal Senior Pastor at Shenandoah Community Fellowship has a love for Scripture, studies it closely and explains its meaning and application verse by verse to help the congregation grow in faith and understanding. He leads by example with humility, integrity, patience, persistence, strong listening skills, loyalty, high trust, optimism, and enthusiasm that energizes people through persuasive, well-chosen and biblically-centric communication and vocabulary. He understands and is comfortable with the church polity and the cooperation between churches that is part of our Southern Baptist values. He embraces an environment where elders teach and lead; and the deacon function serves. He and his family have experience within and enjoy, or can easily adapt to, a small-town milieu. While pastoral care is part of his role and something he thoroughly enjoys because of his love for people and inherent desire to interact with others, he understands that much of that function is effectuated through our LIFE Groups (small / care groups) and he may need to – in cooperation with the other elders – occasionally hand-off pastoral care activities so that it does not supplant the primary focus on his teaching.
