Bivocational Worship Pastor Part Time

The minister of worship is responsible to the pastor for the development and promotion of the worship ministry of the church. The responsibilities to God and the church are:

1.  Direct the planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluation of a comprehensive Biblical music program, including choirs, vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.

2.  Lead in planning and direction of the adult, youth, praise teams, and other choirs as needed.

3.  Collaboratively plan worship services in conjunction with ministry staff based on sermon topic/theme and other directional goals. This includes selecting music for the regular and special services, creating the Proclaim slides for the music, and updating the order of service by Wednesday morning, before the Sunday service.

4.  To rehearse regularly with all elements of the worship service before the service.

5.  To coordinate and communicate with all the elements of worship services (ie, Sound, video, praise team, choir, music, etc.)

6.  To be a member of the Worship Committee to coordinate with the leaders of the worship team to help plan and lead worship. 

7.  Recruit, develop, manage, and schedule volunteer musicians, vocalists, and the technical team.

8.  Serve with the pastor in the planning and coordination of the total church program.

9.  If available and upon request, arrange and provide for the coordination of music at weddings, funerals, and special ministry projects related to the church.

10. Supervise the maintenance of the music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other equipment related to the music program.

11. Prepare an annual budget proposal for the music ministry to be presented to the budget team. Administer approved budget according to policy.

12. Keep informed on music methods, materials, promotion, and administration.

13. Attend all staff meetings unless the pastor approves absence.

14. Other duties as assigned
