Solitude Baptist Church — Senior Pastor

JOB PROFILE:

Purpose
To preach the Word of God faithfully, shepherd the congregation with love and integrity, and provide Christ-centered leadership that equips the church to glorify God and fulfill the Great Commission.

Accountability
Reports to the congregation through the Deacons and Personnel Committee.

Primary Responsibilities
·         Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, conviction, and consistency.

·         Provide spiritual leadership and vision for the overall direction of the church.

·         Shepherd the congregation through pastoral care, visitation, counseling, and prayer.

·         Lead and oversee all worship services and the administration of the ordinances.

·         Equip and encourage ministry leaders and teams to carry out the church’s mission.

·         Pursue and support evangelism and outreach in the local community and beyond.

·         Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral functions as needed.

Character & Qualifications
The Senior Pastor must meet the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–17 and Titus 1:6–9, demonstrating:

·         A genuine, growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by personal prayer, Bible study, and holy living.

·         Sound theological convictions consistent with the Baptist Faith & Message.

·         Faithful leadership of his own family.

·         A heart for the lost and a commitment to making disciples.

·         Integrity, humility, and emotional maturity in all relationships.

Ministry Values
The pastor is expected to model and cultivate the following:

·         Chemistry – Building healthy, respectful relationships with staff, volunteers, and members.

·         Calling – A clear sense of God’s call to pastoral ministry and to Solitude Baptist Church specifically.

·         Character – Personal holiness, doctrinal integrity, and consistent Christian example.

·         Competency – Growing proficiency in preaching, shepherding, leadership, and administration.

General Expectations
·         Maintain Spirit-filled personal devotion through Scripture, prayer, and worship.

·         Be an active, participating member of Solitude Baptist Church.

·         Support the financial ministry of the church through faithful, generous giving.

·         Protect the unity of the church and remain loyal to its mission and fellowship.

·         Conduct all personal and professional affairs with the highest level of integrity.
