Pastor Full Time

South Seminole Baptist Church seeks to call a Pastor who is enthusiastic and passionate about
sharing the gospel both from the pulpit and with the people he is around each day. He should
excel in leading the church to become disciple-makers of Jesus and passionately guide the
development of those disciples.
Our ideal candidate should be spiritually and emotionally mature, having recognized his calling
to serve Christ while also acknowledging his need for Christ. He is a skilled communicator with a
deep understanding of scripture who is confident in his faith and able to challenge our members
to spend more time studying God’s Word. His sermons are rooted in the truth and power of the
Bible and are delivered in a personal, relational, and engaging style.
His background should include both seminary (Southern Baptist affiliated seminary preferred)
and five years or more of pastoral experience on staff at a church with similar size and
demographics to South Seminole. He should understand and agree with the Baptist Faith &
Message (2000) and eagerly support missions both locally and through the Cooperative
Program. He should have a pastor’s heart – a compassionate spirit who cares for the members of
our church, while also developing that same compassion and outreach among the members of
the church.
Our next Pastor should build relationships with ease, in an effort to promote connection within
our church and then lead our members to reach those around us. He must be a strong leader
who is prepared to guide our church in establishing its vision for reaching the world with the
Gospel and who is able to oversee and support our church staff as they plan and organize
ministry activities as an administrator.
He should be quick to seek wisdom from God through prayer as he guides South Seminole
Baptist Church to fulfill its mission to lead people into following Jesus and loving people.
