Youth Pastor

The Pastor is responsible for leading, planning, recruiting, and developing leaders within our Study Ministry (6th-12th grade).

Primary Duties (Students)

–          Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of the student ministry grades 6-12 that ensures student understand their importance in the life of the church, and their responsibility in pursuit of the Great Commission.

–          Evaluate needs for discipleship and implement a plan for discipling believing students.

–          Provide Bible Studies or Student Small Groups on Sunday Mornings. This includes planning for space, curriculum, and other resources.

–          Recruit and train volunteer Youth Leaders.

–          Work with all Youth Leaders to coordinate a Student Ministry Calendar that is balanced and ministers to both students and parents.

–          Provide a mid-week Student Ministry program that seeks to engage students in worship, Bible study, and fellowship that fosters spiritual growth.

–          Work to evaluate the needs of the parents and involve them in the work of the Student Ministry as we help guide them in the role of discipling their own children.

–          Make yourself available for counseling and discipleship with students and parents as opportunities present themselves.

–          Prepare and manage the Student Ministry annual budget on an on-going basis.

–          Other duties as assigned by Lead Pastor.

Minimum Qualifications

–          Must have a firm conviction that God has called them to the ministry, with good references to confirm this calling.

–          Ordination status preferred.

–          Must meet the qualifications for a pastor, as outlined in Scripture (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)

–          Must possess the ability to interact with people from all walks of life courteously and effectively to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with co-workers and members of the congregation.

–          Must be able to competently manage a budget.

–          Must possess the ability to recruit and train leadership, while planning organizing, and modifying a large, diverse Worship and Student Ministry.

–          Must possess the ability to utilize a team approach in planning.

–          Must walk in humility and be willing to learn, even as they seek to be a leader of people.

–          Must have a Bachelor’s Degree. A Master of Divinity (MDiv) or at least a pursuit of an MDiv is preferred.

Compensation: $15,000 annual
