Reports To: Executive Pastor & NextGen Ministry Team Leader

Are you a faithful follower of Jesus and passionate about Student Ministry? We have an amazing ministry opportunity for you! We are searching for a Student Ministry Director who will oversee the ministry to all students, from 5th grade through 12th grade. They are responsible for the implementation of a Student Ministry that inspires students to Belong in faith community, Believe in Jesus Christ, and Become lifelong disciples. The Student Ministry Director will lead a growing team of volunteer leaders, partner with families from a diverse community, and collaborate with a staff team that is excited to support them.

Church Summary:

The Church At Severn Run is seeking an energetic leader who will pursue the church’s mission and be a key member of our staff and NextGen Ministry Team. Our church is located in Severn, Maryland – which is nestled between Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, D.C. We are passionate about wholistic missions, community outreach, and reaching the next generation. We worship with a multigenerational and multicultural congregation of around 1,000 people each Sunday morning. The Church At Severn Run aims to “love well, live Jesus, and believe big”. We are excited for this new season of life and ministry! We believe that ministry is joyful, the potential is limitless, and that God is good in every season. Ministry Specific Responsibilities:

Cast the vision for a vibrant Student Ministry that will allow students to experience God in a relevant and relational way. Help us make the Gospel not only heard, but seen and felt. Grow God’s Church by growing students.
Develop a dynamic leadership team of volunteers by providing resources and training, and by implementing appreciation strategies.
Oversee weekly programs and environments for Student Ministry that are age aware, mission minded, and engaging. Our programs and environments are currently existing in two main areas: our Sunday Morning experience for 5th- 8th graders and our Wednesday Night experience for 5th- 12th graders. Will also particiapte in Student Ministry events, retreats, and camps / trips.
Activate and develop students to lead and serve among their peers and around our church community.
Implement and evaluate strategies to ensure students are known, loved well, and safe. This includes check-in tools and procedures, attendance tracking, first time guest follow up, and safety policies for leaders and Student Ministry spaces.
Partner with our Kids Ministry. The Kids Ministry and Student Ministry will work together to collaborate and support each other as a NextGen Ministry team.
Maintain proper office hours, participating in staff and department meetings.
Be able to communicate God’s Word in a meaningful manner in both preaching and teaching.
Qualifications:

Demonstrate flexibility; be a grace-filled problem solver
Continue to study and grow in knowledge and practical ministry strategies current with culture, trends, and societal changes
College degree and experience in related fields preferred
Be relational and intentional with students, leaders, parents, and staff
