ASSOCIATIONAL MISSION STRATEGIST (AMS)
The Top O’ Texas Baptist Association is a voluntary network of cooperating Southern Baptist Churches made up of the Panfork, Palo Duro, Trans-Canadian, and Canadian areas of the Texas panhandle who encourage, support, and partner in resourcing one another for the edification of each church and expansion of the Kingdom of God.
BASIC FUNCTION: To provide counsel, leadership and resources for the Association to help churches achieve their individual and cooperative objectives.
THE ASSOCIATION: The Associational Mission Strategist shall:
1. Lead in developing an annual calendar, long range planning, and budget for the Association.
2. Manage office and office personnel.
3. Serve as a channel of communication between churches, other Baptist entities and the public.
4. Become acquainted with resources in community, the Association, and denominational agencies, and inform the churches of their availability.
5. Provide counsel and support to Pan Fork Encampment.
6. Recommend employment or dismissal of any associational staff to the Executive Board.
7. Develop and work with Task Forces in providing opportunities for emphasis upon Doctrine, Evangelism, Family Life, Missions,
i. Stewardship, and other appropriate areas of Christian Discipleship.
8. Assist in leadership, selection, and operation of:
i. Program organization
ii. Promotional activities
iii. Committees and Task Forces
9. Serve as ex-officio member of all committees and task forces of the Association.
10. Provide training for associational works, giving personal attention as necessary.
THE CHURCHES: The Associational Mission Strategist shall:
1. Assist in developing a strong fellowship within and among the churches.
2. Assist local churches in their needs and goals.
3. Lead in discovering areas of cooperative ministries.
4. Become acquainted with resources in community, the association, and denominational agencies, and inform the churches of their availability.
5. Maintain regular communication with the churches and pastors through personal contact.
6. Assist in planning and implementing church missions.
7. Minister to pastors and staff and their families.
8. Provide assistance in leadership needs for churches in crisis, as requested:
a. By meeting with appropriate church groups or committees
b. By assisting in pulpit ministries
c. By enlisting assistance from sister churches and denominational agencies.
