ActiveStudent Ministry Director The Student Ministry Director has a primary focus on shepherding, leading, promoting and oversight of the spiritual development of students grades 6-12. The objective is to help the congregation to Love, Grow and Serve. Personal He shall be a spiritually maturing believer who has a desire and passion to serve Christ in the local church. He must demonstrate a genuine call on his life and have the proven ability to work efficiently, exercise good time management, possess the ability to communicate effectively, and build strong relationships with all levels of the congregation and the community. He shall practice and promote Christlikeness and the purpose of Union Baptist Church. He shall have a close working relationship with the Senior Pastor to achieve the overall goals of the church. Expectations 1. We believe that a disciplined life that is committed to prayer and genuine worship will be contagious. 2. We expect practical, clear application of the Bible to show others how to walk with Christ. 3. We demand the highest Biblical standards of leadership, character and teaching of church approved doctrines. 4. We expect regular participation in workshops, seminars, and retreats that will enhance ministry capabilities. 5. Be fully immersed in the life of the church (attend, give, serve). 6. Participate in a yearly job performance review. 7. Actively present ministry opportunities to the church. 8. Benchmarks will be set for each area of ministry effectiveness, participation and growth. Status: Part-time (20 hours) Duties and Responsibilities: (including, but not limited to, the following) 1. Create, cast, and implement vision for the church’s youth group that fits within the vision of the church. 2. Coordinate and develop the Student Ministry calendar of activities with at least one activity per quarter. 3. Plan, promote, and assist the students in becoming directly involved in activities of the church including missions, ministry, special events, and routine programs. 4. Build a Biblically based curriculum that will minister to the foundational and felt needs of students. 5. Communicate with parents regarding student’s spiritual growth, activities and work with families of students in developing stable, vital homes. 6. Minister actively with the students in their environment by building relationships and mentoring. 7. Develop meetings and activities that are vibrant, upbeat, and inviting. 8. Lead in development of and administration of Student Ministry. 9. Initiate a plan to develop student leaders who will adopt a mindset of serving. 10. Develop and execute a plan to be on school campuses regularly. 11. Oversee, grow, coordinate, and lead the church’s regular youth programming (Sunday morning and Wednesday night). 12. Develop (Recruit and Equip) Youth Leaders and schedule regular youth leader meetings as appropriate.
