Union Hill faith family and leadership believe in the value of children’s ministry to nurture faith in the generation the Lord gives us now. We want to see children love Jesus Christ, and for families to grow. We want to come along side of dads and moms to see them help lead their children in discipleship. We are praying for the Lord to assist us in this vision.
The Childrens Minister will be responsible for the leadership of children’s ministry from birth to 5th grade in unison with the vision set forth by the leadership of the church. He/she will have the responsibility of providing a Biblical model of ministry to our children which helps parents to facilitate the spiritual and social development of their children.
*Responsibilities include:
1. The development of discipleship strategy for children that works in conjunction with the overall vision of UHBC which includes programming of this strategy for Sunday morning children’s worship and Wednesday night programming.
2. Lead, recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the children’s ministry.
3. Scheduling of volunteers in conjunction with other ministries within the church.
4. The coordination of all outside children’s events/retreats. (summer camp, trips, projects such as nursing home ministry, swim parties)
5. Develop and implement strategy for whole-family discipleship; working with families to equip and encourage parents to disciple their children…example: sending home Bible study recaps for the week, children’s books etc.
6. Strategize and implement plan for our children to be part of the local body of UHBC…example: congregational singing, mission projects, church dramas, etc.
7. Take the lead in talking with children about salvation needs and following in baptism—recognizing the different stages children are in this process.
8. Outreach toward children/families…phone calls, cards, texts, visits to schools for lunch, sporting events
9. Strategize and implement plan to reach/disciple special needs children and families
10. Oversee a yearly Vacation Bible School
11. Coordination of child discipleship strategy for at least 1 semester of small groups per year.
12. Work with leadership to obtain back ground checks for all children volunteers.
13. Work with leadership to create and manage budgets.
14. Attend and participate in all staff meetings, taking a team approach with our staff.
15. Assist the Pastor and leadership with anything set forth to help operate the functions of UHBC

-Angela Talley currently reports to our Children’s Minister . This positions was created to help accomplish ministry goals for children and UHBC. Angela leans toward the organization of Pre-K department.
