Lead Pastor (Bi-Vocational)

United Baptist Church (UBC) in Gastonia, North Carolina, is prayerfully seeking a bi-vocational Lead Pastor to shepherd our congregation and lead us forward in this next season of ministry.

Position Overview

The Lead Pastor will provide biblical preaching, spiritual leadership, and pastoral care while working in partnership with the church leaders. This role is well-suited for a pastor called to shepherd a local congregation while serving bi-vocationally. There is the desire and possibility for the position to become full-time as the church grows.

Key Responsibilities

Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully and clearly
Provide pastoral care and spiritual oversight
Lead and equip members for practical ministry
Collaborate with deacons and ministry leaders
Encourage evangelism and community engagement

Qualifications

Clear calling to pastoral ministry
Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message
Some formal seminary training (MDiv preferred but not required)
Prior pastoral or ministry experience required
Ability to serve effectively in a bi-vocational role

Compensation

Part-time, bi-vocational (details discussed with candidates)
