Children’s Minister Full Time

Summary: The Children’s Pastor is responsible for leading The Village Baptist Church in developing a comprehensive ministry for Children and their families. This ministry will include Sundays, midweek programming, and special events to disciple and reach children and their families.

Responsibilities

∙ Oversee the Children’s Ministry at The Village Baptist Church, developing programming and curriculum to reach each child on their level.

∙ Provide children a safe place to belong, giving them the courage to be different and resilient to unhealthy peer pressure.

∙ Oversee the Children’s Ministry team, volunteers, and interns to enlist, train, resource, and encourage adult leadership to lead Sunday morning, AWANA, camp and retreat counselors, and partner with parents.

∙ Annually develop and oversee the Children’s Ministry budget to effectively and wisely utilize church resources and maximize ministry opportunities.

∙ Utilize understanding of children’s challenges to create unique and fun strategies for engaging, reaching, and impacting them.

∙ Enlisting leadership for Children’s Ministry and ensuring they have the training and resources to lead their Life Groups well.

∙Equipping parents to confidently direct their child’s spiritual formation while connecting them to The Village Baptist Church community.

∙ Participate in staff meetings, providing up-to-date information about the ministry.

∙ Utilize our database to celebrate new guests, birthdays, and other pertinent family events. ∙ Use creative strategies to communicate timely to the families and local community regarding what’s happening at The Village.

∙ Collaborate with peers within Family Ministry and the VCA staff to execute a cohesive and complementary strategy.

∙ Other duties as assigned.

Pastoral Leadership

∙ Maintain a vital, growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study and prayer.

∙ Be intentional about pastoring your volunteers, knowing their story, and providing spiritual growth opportunities to deepen their faith and spiritual walk with Jesus.

∙ Communicate, support, and fulfill the church’s mission, vision, core values, purposes, and goals.

∙ Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
