Job Description: Minister of Music
The Minister of Music will oversee all aspects of the church’s music ministry, including worship, choirs, ensembles, instrumental programs, and dramatic presentations. The Minister of Music will also lead the adult choir and any additional ensembles as needed, and collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan worship services, ensuring the selection of appropriate music for each service and facilitating smooth transitions during worship. Responsibilities may include supervising both paid and volunteer staff, recruiting and training music directors, accompanists, and teachers, and coordinating a graded choir program for children through high school. This role also involves providing music for special events such as weddings, funerals, church conferences, and other ministry events.
In addition to the music program, the Minister of Music will manage the church’s music library, instruments, sound and lighting equipment, and maintain the music budget. He will also work closely with church leadership to coordinate the music ministry’s events with the church’s calendar and overall mission, including supporting associational and state-level initiatives. The role requires active participation in pastoral care, including visitation and counseling for members and visitors. The Minister of Music will also handle any other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Minister of Music – Key Responsibilities
