Active Position Overview
The Communications Director/Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the Lead Pastor in the day-to-day operation of the church. This includes communication and assimilation, and ensuring a smooth-running office according to church policies and procedures.
Principal Administrative Assistant Responsibilities
• Answer church office phone during office hours
• Greet and assist any visitor to the Church Office
• Assist church members and ministries with requests made to the church office
• Point of contact for any repairs needing to be made to facilities
• Write and mail first time guest postcards, postcards to church members and any other mail needed to be sent
• Maintain church calendar (website, app, etc)
• Responsible for facility requests, reservations and events schedule
• Help coordinate funerals, weddings, meal trains, and other activities
• Order and maintain office supplies
• Oversee and communicate with Vision’s cleaning company
• Point of contact for alarm company calls
• Attend all staff meetings
• Check and distribute mail daily
• Willing to perform other duties the lead pastor requests
Principal Communications Director Responsibilities
• Maintain and oversee the brand/style guide for the church that accurately and appropriately represents its vision, mission, values, team culture, and discipleship process.
• Oversee all communication channels, messages, and collateral materials to ensure that church communication is executed in a clear and consistent fashion.
• Assemble, lead, and care for a diverse team of staff and volunteers who deliver messages to and for the church, on time and within budget.
• Church Management Software – update planning center as needed, add new members and first-time guests in planning center as well as assign families to a deacon.
• Prepare “what’s happening” email and send out weekly
• Oversee and maintain Vision’s Website
• Design and create graphics for Vision
• Oversee all social media accounts – responsible for creating, posting, scheduling posts. Build engaged followings across social media channels and provide analytics.
• Assemble, lead, and care for our First Impressions team

• Ability to handle information of a delicate, sensitive, or confidential nature.
• Capacity to multitask, take initiative, be patient, and attend to details.
• Be (or become) a faithful member of Vision, affirming our Statement of Faith, Constitution, and Bylaws.
• Complete and pass a background check
Job Skills Required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google) church management software (e.g., Subsplash, Planning Center) and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe, Canva)
Educational & Professional Requirements
• High School Diploma
• At least 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a church
