ActiveSUMMARY The Worship & Youth Leader is a full-time position devoted to helping the church
sing the truth of the gospel in weekly gatherings and nurturing the spiritual
growth of the youth. This opportunity will allow the qualified candidate to gain
experience serving in a local church alongside seasoned pastors who have years
of experience in both worship and youth ministries. The Worship & Youth Leader
will work together with the Senior Pastor to cultivate Christ-honoring gatherings
that engage the hearts and minds of God’s people to sing doctrinally rich truths.
The Worship & Youth Leader will also work with the Family Life Pastor to develop
and implement a biblically robust youth ministry aimed at a practical outworking
of faith and obedience to Jesus.
WORSHIP LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan congregational worship gatherings.
Plan and execute the musical elements of corporate worship gatherings for the church,
serving alongside current music volunteers and recruiting future volunteers.
Schedule weekly volunteers for music and A/V teams using scheduling software.
Select appropriate songs that teach the church truth and inspire congregational
participation.
Lead songs (both old and new) that encourage wide participation in congregational singing.
Lead band rehearsals regularly.
Arrive early and be prepared to lead on Sundays (and special gatherings like Christmas Eve &
Good Friday) with minimal distractions.
Ensure that the stage, sound system, video system, and presentation software are working
properly and are ready for use.
Ensure that presentation software is accurate each week (including song lyrics,
announcements, videos, etc).
Develop a yearly budget for Music and A/V ministry and stay within that budget.
YOUTH LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Family Life Pastor and volunteers to integrate youth programs with the
overall mission and vision of the church.
Plan, organize, and lead youth group activities including weekly gatherings, Bible studies,
special events, camps, retreats, outreach opportunities.
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with youth programs and activities.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about youth
programs and events.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all youth participants.
WORK CONSIDERATIONS
This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The Worship & Youth Leader will be responsible to
the Senior Pastor for worship ministry responsibilities and the Family Life Pastor for youth
ministry responsibilities.

FURTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
The Worship & Youth Leader
Will attend weekly staff meeting for planning and prayer.
Will maintain regular office hours during the work week (Monday – Thursday).
Will be reviewed each year by the Personnel Team and Senior Pastor.
Will miss no more than 4 Sunday gatherings a year.
Will engage as a member of the church, building relationships with other church members,
and supporting the overall discipleship direction of the church.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Clear testimony of repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ.
Committed to living a faithful lifestyle of worship to God that is above reproach.
Evidence of an abiding relationship with Jesus and an ongoing practice of spiritual disciplines
(for example: prayer, Scripture reading, mortification of sin, generosity, etc).
Passion for making disciples of Jesus.
Humble, teachable, and wanting to grow.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Christian university/seminary preferred but not
required.
Competent vocal ability.
Can proficiently lead the congregation in singing from an instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard).
Able to manage interpersonal conflict and criticism.
Uses good judgment and can make deliberate changes wisely.
Team-player and self-starter.
Experience with church music ministry preferred (either volunteer or staff).
Experience with youth ministry preferred (either volunteer or staff).
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with youth, parents, volunteers, and church staff.
