Pastor Full Time

Waverly Baptist Church is seeking a full time Pastor who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and has a calling to minister to His flock.  The pastor is to be the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He also engages in pastoral care, provides supervisory leadership in all areas and administrates the paid and volunteer staff.

Job Summary: The Pastor is one who is gifted and is called to church ministry, loves people, and has a passion for evangelism, outreach, and missions both personally and at the ministry level.  He has a passion for the Word of God and desires to proclaim the Word of God with conviction and confidence always moving the congregation towards spiritual growth.  He is ministry minded and will lead the congregation to actively serve.  The Pastor is one who casts a vision for the ministries under his direction.  He lives out the Great Commission by sharing the gospel bodily from the pulpit, by being in the community and local schools, and through one-on-one relationships.

Expectations: The Senior Pastor will be the overseer of the Church.  His duties shall be to: Preach the Gospel. Lead and equip the congregation, the deacons, the church council and committees, and church staff to perform their tasks of engaging in worship, witness, and ministry. Proclaim the Gospel to believers and unbelievers. Encourage family worship and Bible study.
