Senior Pastor Position – Waymark Church

Waymark Church is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who is called, anointed, and equipped to lead our congregation from one exciting season of growth into the next!

Located in Monett, Missouri, Waymark Church has been on a powerful journey of transformation and growth, and we are excited to continue advancing the Kingdom of God under Spirit-led leadership.

Waymark is a Church on the Move that has received its identity from God to become “Waymark Church” formerly “First Baptist Church of Monett,” and because of our obedience, God has poured out His favor on in undeniable ways. When we embraced a new identity as Waymark Church, we committed ourselves to being a guidepost for the lost, a light in the darkness, and a church that points people toward Jesus Christ.

At that time, our congregation was a faithful few people who believed that God had more in store. Since then, we have seen incredible growth, reaching over 400 in attendance at our peak and now averaging around 250 each week.  More than numbers, we have witnessed many salvations, over 120 baptisms, countless families restored, and a deep hunger for God’s Word.

Position Overview
The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader, responsible for preaching, teaching, shepherding, and casting vision for the church. The Senior Pastor will serve on the Leadership Team and work alongside other staff and deacons to help accomplish God’s purpose in the Church.  This individual must be deeply committed to biblical truth, fervent prayer, passionate about people, meeting them where they are and then making disciples out of them. And because of following the Great Commandment, we will make priority the Great Commission.

Key Responsibilities
Preach and teach God’s Word with clarity, conviction, and creativity in the full counsel of the Word.
Provide leadership in pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and leadership to the congregation.
Cast vision and develop strategies for continued church growth and discipleship.
Oversee church staff, ministries, and operations with wisdom and integrity while serving alongside the Leadership Team,
Engage the local community to expand the church’s impact and outreach.
Lead in prayer, discipleship, and fostering a culture of unity and holiness.
Oversee Church Staff of: Worship Pastor, Children’s ministry director, (Associate and Student Pastor to come after Senior Pastor is called) ,

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years as a Senior or Lead Pastor.
Ordained and Licensed as a Southern Baptist Minister
IN agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message  2000
A clear calling to pastoral ministry with a strong foundation in Scripture.
Has a strong personal life where family is priority
Preaches the full counsel of God and carries a balance of discipleship as well as evangelism.
Proven experience in church leadership, preaching, and discipleship.
A shepherd’s heart with a passion for people, evangelism, and spiritual growth.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and is creative to engage the next generation.
Agreement with Waymark Church’s statement of faith and core values, which is “Love God, Love People, and Serve the World”.
