Objective
Advance the mission of the church in Wellspring Students by fulfilling organizational, administrative, programming, teaching, and leadership responsibilities.
Philosophy
– Balanced, exegetical teaching from Scripture
– Groups based element in discipleship model
– Ministry framework to engage 7th-12th grade students
– Introduce leadership and serving opportunities for students inside and outside of the church
– Structure programming and events to intentionally fulfill the measures of the church: Belong, Become, Beyond
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Wednesday Night “MDWK” Gatherings
o Coordinate with rental facilities on needs or schedule at the Intermediate School
o Set up and tear down all equipment
o Recruit, train, and integrate adult volunteers
o Schedule and communicate with adult volunteers
o Plan Curriculum
o Prepare and teach weekly Bible lessons (approx. 70% of gatherings)
o Create Discussion Guides for small group breakouts
o Develop service plan and creative elements
– Student Events
o Recruit, vet, train, and integrate adult volunteers
o Offer a variety of events with distinct purposes and at distinct times within calendar
o Planning Center Registrations and Calendar
o Coordinate graphics and promotion of the events
o Plan and execute event logistics
o Events may include but are not limited to:
§ Summer Camp
§ Mission Trip
§ Winter Retreat
§ Summer Socials
§ Fall Kick Off
– Volunteers
o Recruit, train, integrate, adult volunteers in Student Ministry programming
o Leadership development
o Make avenues available for mentorship and discipleship of volunteers
– Parents
o Weekly email to parents providing information on teaching content and upcoming events.
o Creative outlets to engage parents in the discipleship process
– Discipleship
o Bible study offerings
o Make a weekly effort to connect with students outside of Wellspring programming through lunches, games, recitals, parachurch ministries, etc.
o Create avenues of intentional discipleship among students and leaders
o Coordinate care of students whether for the purpose of discipleship or crisis intervention.
– Other Programming Duties
o Planning Center Online input, workflows, events, and registrations
o Sunday set up and tear down
o Intermittent Sunday morning offerings for students
o Be present for both Sunday service hours, attending service and/or serving
o Attend weekly staff meetings
o Attend long term planning and creative meetings
o Assist in planning and ownership of church wide events
Requirements
– High school diploma or equivalence
– Affirmation of Wellspring Church’s Statement of Beliefs
– Testimony of salvation and demonstrated commitment to spiritual growth
– Prior Student Ministry experience
– Personal passion for Student Ministry
– Ability to self-start and faithfully steward work responsibilities
– Capacity to cultivate and develop relationships with students, parents, and volunteers
– Attributes of a humble spirit, teachability, and flexibility
