 West Hill Community Church In central upstate New York, between the south shore of Lake Ontario and Northern Pennsylvania border, is what is known as the Finger Lakes Region where eleven lakes laid in a northern-southern handprint pattern, provide year around enjoyment and recreation. On the western shore of Cayuga Lake sits West Hill Community Church with a growing multi-generational congregation of 35 active members. West Hill Community Church is a Bible-believing church, having trust and faith in one God.
 
Our purpose at West Hill Community Church is to serve Our Lord in helping people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, and to bring them into fellowship with other believers. It is also our mission to equip and encourage God’s people towards spiritual maturity and service for the glory of God.
The Vision of West Hill Community Church is to be a body created by and belonging to God through the faith in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and like-minded in our love for God. We are committed to reaching the Ithaca and surrounding communities, with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. It is our mission to reach the world for Christ by proclaiming God’s love and His plan for salvation.
 
Position Summary
West Hill Community Church is seeking a Senior Pastor who will provide pastoral leadership to West Hill Community Church under the leadership of the Holy Spirit of God in a way that nurtures and develops the body of Christ. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator and a humble servant-leader with a passion for rural ministry and a heart for discipleship. You will also work alongside our deacon, leadership board and ministry leaders to advance West Hill’s local and global mission.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
·      Be a pastor/counselor to the people of the church and their families
·      Preach and Teach the Word of God
·      Lead by example and train the church in evangelism
·      Help the church develop and implement an intentional discipleship strategy.
·      Provide leadership to the church in the area of worship. 
·      Equip the saints for the work of ministry.
·      Promote fellowship in the church.
·      Lead the church to develop and implement an intentional outreach                                     strategy. 
·      Provide oversight and supervision for all aspects of the church’s activity 
·      Supervise all employees of the church – paid and volunteer.
·      Serve as the Chairman of the Leadership Council.
·      Serve as moderator of the church.
Qualifications
·      Be called of God to the pastoral ministry
·      Be the husband of one wife
·      Exhibit good judgment and a Christian deportment
·      Have a kind and gentle spirit
·      Be able to teach
·      Be of good manager of his family
·      Have a good reputation
·      Accept the tenants of the Southern Baptist Faith and Message
 
Compensation and Benefits
Annual base salary $40,000.00, that includes housing and medical insurance that can be distributed at the candidate’s discretion.
