Wiregrass Children’s Home is seeking to hire House Parents for their Houston County, Alabama home. The married husband and wife couple will be responsible for overseeing daily household operations, providing support to the children, and ensuring a well-maintained and organized home. Housing, utilities and groceries provided. In this position an apartment is provided that is onsite at the children’s home for the couple and their family. Health insurance as well as a cell phone allowance is also covered by the Children’s Home. In this position you work a rotating schedule each week from Sunday 8am- Friday 8am one week and Sunday 10pm- Friday 8am the next week.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage household tasks including budgeting, meal planning, grocery shopping, and home maintenance.
Facilitate mealtime devotions and coordinate weekly worship services.
Guide and supervise residents with household chores and skill development.
Schedule and transport residents to medical appointments and outings.
Oversee medication administration and collaborate with counselors/social workers.
Monitor and document resident behavior, discipline, and daily activities.
Ensure home safety, conduct monthly fire drills, and manage the home van.
Communicate effectively with staff, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements:

Must be a married husband and wife couple.
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
2+ years’ experience in a childcare residential facility, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Ability to become First Aid and CPR certified.
Strong Christian character, good health, and ethical behavior.
