Associate Pastor for the English Ministry The SFCBC Associate Pastor position is a full time ministry position that will focus on Preaching, Teaching, Shepherding, and Mentoring areas of ministry including general church leadership support of the Senior Pastor in his work.  He leads by example of Christian living for others to follow.  Under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, the Associate Pastor equips the lay people of the congregation as they carry out the church’s ministry.  The Associate Pastor takes part in worship and outreach, and provides pastoral care to people in need.  As a vital member of the pastoral team consists of Senior Pastor, English Ministers, Administrative Assistance; the Associate Pastor performs duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor; and works closely with the Board of Deacons, Church Council, and various committees to carry out the church mission towards the realization of the church vision.  The Associate Pastor strives to provide for the spiritual growth of individuals, and discerns God’s words for both the English and Chinese congregations.  While ultimately accountable to God, the Associate Pastor is under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor, and reports indirectly to the Board of Deacons.  Because the job description and areas of responsibility of the Associate Pastor are quite similar to that of the Senior Pastor, it is the expectation of the Church that the Associate Pastor will assume the duties of the of the Senior Pastor in his absence: 1.     Preaching and Teaching:
  • Preaches in either or both the English and Chinese worships when delegated by the Senior Pastor.
  • Provide teaching, discipleship training, nurturing, leadership, guidance and support to those serving in various ministries of the church

Senior Pastor

First Baptist Church of Camilla 27 East Broad Street Camilla, GA 31730 [email protected] Senior Pastor Position Description 1.       Statement of Purpose.  The Senior Pastor of Camilla First Baptist Church (FBC) must meet the spiritual, personal and character qualifications as found in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, and exhibit the fruit of the spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23. The Senior Pastor should be a student of the Bible and actively share Christ at each opportunity. The Senior Pastor should be a person, who loves and enjoys people, can relate well to a variety of different people in a sincere and humble way, and able to discern the particular needs of individuals in the church and provide them with the requisite pastoral care. He will provide spiritual direction and discernment in guiding the total church programs/ministries. The Senior Pastor will hold to the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention as described in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. The Senior Pastor will strive to lead this church to maintain its support of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and the Tucker Baptist Association. The Senior Pastor will endeavor to lead this church to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-34 and Luke 10:27). 2.       Accountability.  The Senior Pastor will answer to Holy God for following His direction. He should seek to undertake his duties in the power of the Holy Spirit, undergirded with prayer, and guided by the scriptures.  The Senior Pastor shall be responsible to the Body of Deacons and the Personnel Ministry Team for fulfillment of job responsibilities and expectations. The Senior Pastor will be the direct supervisor of all staff. 3.      Duties and Responsibilities. a.       Preaching and Teaching: The Senior Pastor should love to study the Word of God, preach and teach the Word boldly with clarity and understanding (Acts 4:13, 29, and 31; Acts 28:31). With his teaching/preaching, the people should be able to apply God’s truth to their everyday lives and to their relationships with God and with others.  Senior Pastor will preach every Sunday and teach a weekly Bible Study every Wednesday evening. i.      Discipling - Teach believers to be learners and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. This would include teaching how to love and study God’s word, love others, pursue God’s will and to bear fruit. (Gal. 5:22-23) ii.      Devotional life - Maintain a vital, wholesome and personal relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer. The Senior Pastor will be a person who has a vibrant devotional life, realizing this is critical to the success of his preaching and other pastoral duties. iii.      Professional growth - Promote his Godly calling to ministry through continual growth through meeting with other pastors for study and encouragement and by attending seminars and conferences as deemed helpful to the Senior Pastor. iv.      Encouraging/equipping - Recognize and encourage the church members to develop and use their spiritual gifts and talents to fulfill the mission of the church, all to the greater glory of God. (Eph. 6: 11-16) b.       Leading: The Senior Pastor is responsible for strategic planning and coordination in the execution of the church’s purpose. He will define strategic goals and vision as the key leader. He would need to show the ability to provide spiritual direction for all aspects of church ministry. i.       Vision - Have a firm grasp on the purpose, values and strategy of the church and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission. ii.       Visitation - Oversee the pastoral care needs of the congregation and, as necessary, share with other ordained and lay ministers in hospital visitation, home visits, counseling, marriages and funerals. iii.       Ministries - Is the leader of ministries in the church. This would include all established teams and committees. He will work with Deacons and ministerial staff to lead the church in performing their responsibilities regarding congregational growth and community engagement. The Senior Pastor will lead the church to engage in fellowship of the believers, evangelism to the community, worship of our Lord, discipleship of believers, and ministry to the flock and community. The goal is to provide direction to all ministries and to seek spiritual guidance from the Holy Spirit. 4.       Confidentiality.  The Senior Pastor must maintain a high level of confidentiality.  Discussions held with the Associate Pastor, Minister of Music, Children’s Minister/Director, Deacons, Personnel Ministry Team, and Church Members can be sensitive in nature and must be kept confidential. 5.       Staff Responsibilities.  The Senior Pastor will lead all staff meetings, and keep the staff informed of all the plans and activities.  The Senior Pastor will coordinate with and support the staff.  The Senior Pastor is the supervisor of all the staff employees, and he will discuss all personnel issues with the Personnel Ministry Team in a timely manner. The Senior Pastor will evaluate all staff employees in writing annually by February 28 for the previous calendar year’s performance. After the written performance evaluations are completed, a copy will be provided to the employee and to the Personnel Ministry Team. The Senior Pastor will conduct a meeting to discuss the performance evaluation with each employee, and he will ensure that at least one member of the Personnel Ministry Team is in attendance at each meeting. 6.       Education and Experience.  The Senior Pastor will be an ordained minister with at least 5 years of experience in a Southern Baptist Church.   A bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Seminary degree is preferred. 7.       Evaluation.  A team consisting of the Chairman of the Deacons, the Personnel Ministry Team, the Chairman of the Finance Ministry Team, and two other Church Members will conduct annual evaluations of the Senior Pastor. Ministry Overview:  The Student Pastor is called by God to lead the church to make disciples of students (6th– 12th grade) by reaching, equipping, and reproducing students who disciple others.  In order to accomplish this task the student pastor and the church must partner with parents/guardians/schools to effectively build and sustain a student ministry intentionally making disciples.

The student pastor must be an example of evangelistic fervor to the church by intentionally building relationships with the unchurched and looking for opportunities to share the gospel.

The student pastor must be an example to the church by practicing biblical stewardship of his finances in tithing and giving.
 
Leadership:
 
The student pastor will shepherd students under his care by building relationships with them, understanding their world, and leading them to a relationship with Christ.

The student pastor will faithfully teach the Word of God to the students under his ministry with passion, conviction, and clarity.

The student pastor will build a team of adult student ministry volunteers by enlisting, equipping, and empowering them to minister to students.

The student pastor will teach students to share their faith and provide platforms for them to do so through a regular evangelistic outreach and through other venues such as mission trips, etc.

Coordinate student ministry communication and promotion plans in concert with ministry staff and ministry teams.

Coordinate planning to ensure students experience true fellowship within the entire church family.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP & OUTREACH

Job Description:   ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP & OUTREACH JOB FUNCTION: This position is a salaried and full-time position. The Associate Pastor of Worship & Outreach is responsible to the Senior Pastor and the FBC elders for the development of the worship, media, and outreach programs of the church. The Pastor of Worship & Outreach works with the Senior Pastor in planning the worship services of FBC, all special services and worship events, and helps oversee the common means of grace from week to week. They will also seek out and lead outreach opportunities and community events as FBC seeks to spread the gospel in North Vernon and love on our community. The Candidate must be committed to theological precision, congregational worship, and pastoral care of the congregation alongside the Senior Pastor. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential Qualifications: The Pastor of Worship & Outreach is a member of the FBCNV elder team, and will therefore demonstrate the character and teaching abilities described for elders in passages such as Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7. The Pastor Search Team will require the following evidence of a candidate’s qualifications:
  • Full agreement with FBCNV's Statement of Faith, Covenant, and Mission.
  • Evidence of spiritual maturity, knowledge of Scripture, and dedication to biblical worship.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Corporate Worship:

Ministry of the Word: Ensure all music and elements of worship are theologically and biblically based and are in line with the means of worship regulated by the Scriptures. Incorporate the use of Scripture readings, biblical literature, and public prayer to bring God’s Word to God’s people. Be willing and able to preach expository sermons when needed or in the absence of the Senior Pastor. Member Care:
  • The Pastor of Worship and Outreach is a pastor and elder. He must help with pastoral care of the congregation including visitations, funerals, weddings, hospital visits, etc.
  • Commit to pray for the congregation and commit to love them and shepherd them.
  • Work closely with the deacon team to oversee member care.
Outreach:    
  • Help encourage and lead the church to declare the gospel in the community and among the nations.
  • Seek out opportunities for the church to be involved in the community through presence, service, evangelistic opportunities, and event hosting.
  • Outside of the listed responsibilities, the Candidate may be asked to take on other duties as reasonably assigned by the Senior Pastor or board of elders.
COMPENSATION: First Baptist Church of North Vernon's annual budget provides salary and benefits to the Pastor of Worship & Outreach. Senior Pastor

Open Position:    Senior Pastor - North Oaks Baptist Church (NOBC) www.nobc.church The Senior Pastor, along with the Elders, provides spiritual oversight and leadership direction to the congregation. He is to preach, disciple, evangelize, lead in the sacraments, and counsel those in need. He is to be the champion of the church’s mission statement and vision. The responsibilities of the Senior Pastor are as follows: 1.       The Senior Pastor is to preach and/or teach in both the Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. He should also lead the Wednesday Bible Study, though he may delegate the teaching portion of the evening study. 2.       The Senior Pastor is to work with the Minister of Music/Worship Team leader in preparing appropriate worship services. These services should be well-prepared, honoring to the Lord, and in a form that is most suitable for our congregation. 3.       The Senior Pastor will delegate and oversee the planning of evangelism, mission, and outreach training and activities. He will oversee the assimilation of new attendees and work toward creating an inviting environment in the congregation. He will encourage the membership to grow personally in these areas. 4.       The Senior Pastor is to regularly lead the congregation in the Lord’s Supper or Communion. This should be done at least four times a year including Easter and Christmas. He should also lead regarding baptisms. 5.       The Senior Pastor will participate in and oversee the Christian education of all ages. This includes Sunday School, youth, and adult education. He will delegate many of these responsibilities to volunteers in the church. 6.       The Senior Pastor will provide short-term counseling as needed. He will be available and responsive to crisis situations. He will provide pastoral care through the most effective means possible. 7.       The Senior Pastor is responsible for all administration of the church. This includes office, staff, janitorial, grounds and buildings.   • Encourages laypeople to take part in worship as worship leaders, praise teams, ushers, scripture readers etc.

2.    The Ministry of the Laity:

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, ROCKMART, GEORGIA JOB OPENING Job Title: Associate Pastor Church Location: 311 East Elm Street Rockmart, GA  30153 First Baptist Church (FBC) of Rockmart is in Rockmart, Georgia, a city of approximately 4,400 residents, and is 20 miles south of Rome, Georgia. About Hebron Baptist Church Hebron Baptist Church (HBC) of Jones County, Mississippi, is in need of a full-time senior pastor. Founded in 1882 as a rural church in a farming community, our church is mostly traditional in worship style with an average morning worship attendance of 108. Our church is a very loving, Christ-centered, prayerful, body of believers.   • Preferred Education: Under-graduate degree and a Master’s degree from SBC affiliated seminary or under-graduate degree and enrolled in SBC seminary with a clear plan in place for graduation.
